漫步遶境慶典中，一起參與熱鬧！ "Stroll through the June 24 Reception and immerse in Daxi’s festive atmosphere!

「大溪六月廿四關聖帝君聖誕慶典」，是慶祝大溪普濟堂關聖帝君的生日，遶境時參與的有廟方人員、志工、大溪百工百業，以及各具特色與故事的遶境團體─「社頭」，是全城總動員籌備的熱鬧慶典，至今已傳承百年，象徵著地方的文化傳承與凝聚力。

June 24 on the lunar calendar marks "The Birthday Celebration of Holy Emperor Guan Yu of Daxi’s Puji Temple," locally known in Daxi as "The Reception of June 24." This festive pilgrimage, a heritage event celebrated for over a century, unites temple officials, volunteers, business representatives, and Shetou—community clubs with rich local characteristics. The event mobilizes the entire town in an “all hands on deck” fashion, symbolizing the cultural heritage and unity of the community.

慶典期間，吸引大量遊客來到大溪，為了共同參與這百年的盛大慶典，觀賞遶境隊伍的表演及感受遶境時的氛圍。然而，我們發現若僅以觀看的方式參與，缺乏深度的互動體驗與了解，文化的價值與故事便難以被有效傳遞與延續。

該如何認識慶典文化？如何看得懂慶典中的細節？
是我們所關注的目標。

During the celebration, large crowds of visitors come to Daxi to participate in the festive pilgrimage around town, enjoying vibrant performances and the lively atmosphere. However, we have observed that simply watching these events, without deeper engagement or understanding, limits the effective transmission and preservation of the culture’s values and stories.

This raises important questions: How can we better understand the cultural significance of The Reception of June 24? How can we fully appreciate the intricate details of the Shetou’s performances during the festive pilgrimage? These are the objectives we seek to address.

我們認為「看懂慶典當下的熱鬧」相當重要，因此規劃一套自主探索的體驗流程，結合文化故事與探索互動，讓遊客即便在非大溪大禧期間，也能融入慶典的氛圍，深入認識其文化與意涵，以全新方式體驗六月廿四的精彩。

We believe that understanding "The Reception of June 24" is vital for preserving and transmitting cultural heritage. To achieve this, we designed a self-guided experience combining cultural stories with interactive exploration. This approach enables visitors to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere and deepen their understanding of its cultural significance, even outside of the celebration periods.​​​​​​​

以「大溪百年歷史的遶境慶典－六月廿四關聖帝君聖誕慶典」為主題，將目標對象鎖定為「對慶典文化有興趣的大眾」，讓參與者可藉由手冊在街區中進行實地互動，邊閱讀故事邊自主探索，加深對於慶典文化的認識。期待在未來的持續投入運用下，讓更多大眾能了解這百年慶典的文化價值，並提升文化的推廣效果及正面形象。

We focus on "The Reception of June 24," a century-old cultural tradition. The target audience is the general public, particularly those interested in religious events. Through our 'Self-Guided Experience Handbook,' users engage with local streets and landmarks, uncovering cultural details that deepen their understanding of the celebration’s significance. Our aim is to broaden the audience’s appreciation for this traditional culture, enhance its visibility, and foster a positive image of this heritage.​​​​​​

大溪六月廿四自主探索手冊｜設計說明

首先，我們設定互動體驗的形式，以故事書結合貼紙互動的模式，帶領體驗者前往指定歷史定點，運用手冊中的互動道具，挖掘百年慶典的故事與魅力，在六月廿四慶典的入街路徑中探索，跟著故事與指引一起探索「六月廿四關聖帝君聖誕慶典」的魅力。

We created an interactive experience combining a storybook with sticker-based activities, guiding users to key historical landmarks and immersing them in the festive journey. By following the storyline and instructions and utilizing the interactive tools in the handbook, users can explore the route of the festive pilgrimage in "The Reception of June 24," uncovering the stories and cultural significance of this century-old heritage event.

大溪六月廿四自主探索手冊｜內容介紹

我們將手冊內容區分為三大主題，分別為：
第一章「漫步在歷史的光陰裡→探索寺廟建築」
第二章「守護著大溪街區的守護獸們→探索街區」
第三章「跟著一起看熱鬧→探索六廿四故事館」。

We divided the content of the handbook into three main themes:
Chapter 1 : Walking Through the Passage of Time
Chapter 2 : Guardians of the Daxi District
Chapter 3 : Join the celebration

【第一章：漫步在歷史的光陰裡】

以六月廿四遶境慶典的核心人物「關聖帝君」為主題，帶領體驗者深入了解普濟堂與關聖帝君的文化故事。同時透過探索寺廟的建築細節，引導參與者認識寺廟中供奉的多尊神明，從而感受其中蘊含的信仰價值與傳統文化之美

"Chapter 1 : Walking Through the Passage of Time"

Using “The Reception of June 24” as the theme, users are guided to explore the cultural stories of Puji Temple and Holy Emperor Guan Yu. By exploring the temple, they can learn about the various deities worshipped there and immerse themselves in the faith values and traditional cultural beauty.

【第二章：守護著大溪街區的守護獸們】

六月廿四遶境時所經過的老城街區中，許多牌樓與建築的門面上都雕刻著象徵守護的神獸。以遶境路線為探索範圍，參與者將有機會深入了解這些守護獸的獨特造型、象徵意涵與背後的祝福寓意，進一步探索慶典中的祝福意涵，感受遶境氛圍的深厚連結。

"Chapter 2 : Guardians of the Daxi District"

In the old town district along the festive pilgrimage route, many archways and building facades feature carvings of guardian mythical creatures. As users explore, they will uncover the unique designs, symbolic meanings, and blessings associated with these creatures, deepening their appreciation of the festive traditions and fully immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the Reception of June 24.

【第三章：跟著一起看熱鬧】

六月廿四故事館，是一座以六月廿四遶境慶典文化為主題的博物館。我們藉由手冊內容引導參與者探索博物館中的各式展品，設計互動環節，使參與者在趣味中體會熱鬧氛圍。透過這樣的體驗，讓參與者能在探索中發掘文化細節，進一步理解並重視這百年的慶典文化。

"Chapter 3 : Join the celebration"

The Lunar June 24 Story House aims to promote and preserve the Daxi Puji Temple’s Holy Emperor Guan Yu’s Birthday Celebration. Through the handbook, users are guided through the museum’s exhibits, where interactive elements lead them to uncover cultural details, deepening their understanding and appreciation of this century-old heritage event.
